From Mr. Cowen’s presentation, I learned that speaking in front of the class shouldn’t be a nerve racking experience. Mr. Cowen kept his presentation casual by making jokes, and talking about relatable experiences. Also, he brought in his 3D printer and his models to show the class. His demonstration of making the ghost model made it more interesting by seeing what he does. Mr. Cowen’s order of information made it easy to understand the processes of 3D printing. When my group and I do our presentation, I’d like to bring in one of our shirts to demonstrate to the class.

The author’s interpretation of a Genius is they think productively, not reproductively. It’s more than high test scores and IQ’s. Geniuses come up with responses from thinking uniquely or unconventionally. They generate as many approaches as they can. Strategies that they share are looking at problems in many different ways to come up with an approach no one has done before. They also make their thoughts visible. Many renowned geniuses have been known to make drawings, graphs, and diagrams. Genius Hour allows students to come up with their own approach to problems instead the way they’ve been conditioned in school. It allows personal freedom in their decisions. |
